Jan 04, 2012 Support Communities / Mac OS & System Software / Mac OS X. I'm having a weird problem with folder sharing on my MBP with Snow Leopard 10.6.6, I'm getting access denied if I try to connect from a windows machine, and 'could not mount' when accessing from Linux. Your password is copied and stored in a non-OS X standard form. It's possible. Mac OS X's security infrastructure gets around this problem by running its GUI code as a special user, 'securityagent'. So as suggested by Frank in the comments I put a vardump on all variables used in the mysqlconnect call, and every time it returns the correct values (where username is not 'securityagent' of course). Do a mysql query with 'select user, currentuser;' just after mysql connect, and another before the problematic mysqlquery and see if they differ. If that's the case, finding the rogue mysqlconnect can be another story, but you can always store the link in a variable – Jorge Bernal Jul 30 '09 at 16:51. 1) Stop mysql (Kill mysql process or run following command) sudo /usr/local/mysql/support-files/mysql.server stop 2) Start it in safe mode. Sudo mysqldsafe -skip-grant-tables 3) Open another terminal and run the following command (Keep last terminal open) mysql -u root 4) Run the following command with suitable new password on the mysql console.
Note: Make sure both Windows 7 and OS X Lion computers are on same network.
